A cheerful little tribute to 1950s pop art, with a rather unpleasant twist. The friendly smile, the cigarette and the familiar comic-book aesthetic are all there. Unfortunately, so is something that probably shouldn't be happening to his eye.
Originally illustrated in 2019, Kornjvkurgen returned in 2022 in a new, smaller edition. This time printed in fluorescent pink, green and black, giving the vintage comic-book aesthetic a decidedly less vintage colour palette.
The halftone patterns and slightly unpredictable registration of risograph printing are part of the appeal. A ridiculous idea, happily given a second life.
Printed in fluorescent pink, green and black.
Second version printed in 2022.
Limited edition of 10.
Signed, numbered, stamped and embossed.
Frame not included.
