Once a year, perfectly ordinary people gather to celebrate the holidays, abandon their inhibitions and become almost entirely unrecognisable. The office Christmas party is a peculiar tradition.
Created for Christmas 2020, Juleblot takes that annual transformation to absurd extremes. A sharply dressed gentleman, an axe, a suspicious mess and a few feathered witnesses. A festive little nightmare inspired by old-fashioned storytelling and Mike Mignola's dramatic use of black and white.
Drawn with ink pens, brushes and plenty of black ink, the illustration is built around smaller scenes within the scene. A Christmas card for people who prefer their seasonal greetings slightly more sinister.
Printed in black on Munken Print 300 gsm.
